NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Administration Trainee to support the Wyndham City Council. Do you have an interest in working for the council while earning a Certificate III in Business Administration?


This 12 month traineeship based in Werribee provides support to the Waste Collection Services Team to ensure the Wyndham City Council promotes sustainability and community education.


About the Team:


The Waste Collections team is responsible for managing the contract for Wyndham's kerbside bin collection and hard & green waste collection services.

It is also responsible for educating the Wyndham community about responsible waste management including reducing, reusing and recycling waste and avoiding any litter or dumping.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general support across the Department.
  • Provide administration support with key projects such as kerbside and hard & green waste collection services, residential waste education, subsidy/rebate schemes and website management.
  • Recording of files in the Council's Document Management system.
  • Assist with the implementation of Council's own and community waste and litter education sessions, waste and litter minimisation programs and internal waste management strategies.
  • Assist with managing contractors regarding relevant recycling programs and waste audits.
  • Carry out other duties commensurate with skills and abilities as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time.
  • Provide a positive personal contribution to the successful operation of the Waste Collections team.


 Risk Management
  • Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of sound risk management within the areas of responsibility and in accordance with Wyndham's Risk Management Policy.
  • Support in providing Wyndham's diverse community with high quality and effective waste and litter education and awareness programs that contribute to building a more sustainable city.
