A bit about the role


As a Business Operations Officer (Systems) in the Cultural Venues Unit, you will provide guidance to the team and ensure up to date systems, procedures and processes for the business operations of the unit are effective, follow organisational requirements and are consistently applied.


You will also lead the development, documentation and implementation of effective systems and processes to support the unit to meet its objectives.


What you'll do

  • Oversee business operations that support administration and reporting service delivery for the business unit to ensure processes relating to procurement, payroll, information services, financial services, facilities maintenance, hospitality services and other business functions are understood by all staff and implemented according to organisational requirements
  • Participate in general customer service duties within the unit at peak times to assist the facilitation of efficient client and service outcomes
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure that systems and processes continue to be effective and meet organisational and sector requirements, including documentation and implementation

What you'll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and relevant experience in a similar role
  • Skills and experience in business operations for delivery of services including understanding of administrative systems and processes for managing finances
  • Experience developing guidelines and procedures for staff, training and development
  • Demonstrated competency with IT systems for service delivery such as client databases, scheduling and finance systems
  • Customer service skills relevant to a busy service delivery environment
  • Understanding of services provided by Local Government (Desirable)
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
