APS- Contract Officers, Indian Ocean Territories Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts Full time $92,005 – $110, % superannuation A key role for the Department is to strengthen communities and regions, including in Australia's non-self-governing territories.
The Territories Division administers the unique territories of Christmas Island, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Jervis Bay and Norfolk Island; and manages national interests in the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.
The division delivers good governance and state-type services in the territories by providing governance frameworks and working with service delivery partners to provide services to support these communities.
The IOT Government Arrangements and IOT Contracts Sections are responsible for managing commercial contracts (including air services, airport and port management related services), Service Delivery Arrangements (SDA) with the Western Australian Government, and Memorandums of Understanding (Mo U) with Australian Government agencies.
Key priorities for the Sections are:administration of commercial contracts;administration of SDAs and Mo Us;management of relationships and issues arising; anddelivery of approved Administered Capital Budget projects.
The IOT Government Arrangements and IOT Contracts Sections are seeking to recruit two Contract Managers to manage a portfolio of commercial contracts or SDAs.
The successful applicants may also manage or support the development of other key projects or deliverables that contribute to branch, divisional or departmental priorities.
Your role may include:
day to day management of a portfolio of contracts or SDAspreparation of briefings, correspondence and communication products for a wide range of external and internal stakeholdersreviewing and developing contracts / arrangements; andmanagement of capital works projects including the preparation of Business Cases, budgeting, procurement of Services, and project management and delivery.
A merit pool may be established for a period of 12 months from the date of this advertisement as a result of the selection process.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate: Sound project/contract management skills The ability to drafting brief, correspondence and advice to Senior Executives and the Minister The ability to effectively prioritise and manage competing priorities under pressure, and the initiative and sound judgement necessary to achieve results Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor language to different audiences Engaging effectively with stakeholders and colleagues and a demonstrated ability to build productive relationships Always acting with high levels of integrity and professionalism in accordance with APS values and ethical standards.
