The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead an Australian consumer business that is going through a period of rapid growth. As the strategic partner to the CEO and Board, this role will be intimately involved with all operational and strategic matters for the company whilst leading a culture of achievement and driving the business for success.

The Challenge

Reporting to the CEO and the Board, you will be tasked with driving business performance, growth and profitability of the business. Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading a global cross-functional team and creating a high-performing culture
  • Developing a deep understanding of key business drivers and establishing performance metrics for demand and supply planning
  • Providing fact based insight into the performance of the business
  • Providing commercial decision-making support and governance to the business
  • Involvement and supporting the function areas of human resources, technology, inventory, supply chain, property, sales, marketing and operations
  • Developing initiatives to improve the productivity and profitability of the business
  • Developing reports to improve the existing financial controls within the business
  • Reviewing and challenging business plans and assisting with strategic planning
  • Providing business case and forecasting support to improve the financial outcomes reached by the business
The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following;
  • Possibly your background and commercial skill set involves:
    • You have been a Chief Financial Officer in a retail or consumer business and your next career step is to become a Chief Operating Officer
    • Your career has included senior finance positions and you are currently the Chief Operating Office or Chief Executive Officer in a retail or consumer business and looking for the next challenge
  • Early career experience with KPMG, Deloitte, PwC or EY
  • Commercial experience in retail, consumer, apparel businesses
  • An understanding or responsibility for inventory, supply chain, property
  • Experience or knowledge of consumer businesses in Australia, North America and the UK
  • Ideally, you will have worked in large-established companies as well as high-growth small businesses
  • Highly regarded will be commercial experience taking a high growth Australian consumer business to international success
