The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader to join the TrooCoo team in the newly created position of Deputy Director, Facilities Management and Operations.

This pivotal role is designed for an operational expert who will support the Director, Facilities Management and Operations with the strategic planning, development, and management of the university's physical infrastructure to ensure that it meets the evolving needs of the university community.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the Facilities Management and Operations Team, overseeing day-to-day operations while driving long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement plans that enhance campus facilities, champion sustainability, support the management of complex projects from planning through execution and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

**Requirements:**

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, along with a proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, develop others, and work well within a team.
  • A deep understanding of Facilities Management, Asset Management, Project Management, Sustainability, and WH&S, alongside a successful track record in managing complex capital and maintenance projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across various levels, be self-directed with exceptional planning capabilities.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks to achieve both project and operational outcomes.
  • A strong general knowledge of systems such as HVAC, BMS, Hydraulic, and Electrical, and a history of identifying and implementing cost-effective processes, procedures, and technologies.
