Regional Manager - Bushland Management Services (BMS)
The National Trust of Australia (NSW) is Australia's pioneering Natural Area Restoration
NGO and its Bushland Management Services (BMS) Division has been in continuous operation for over 38 years.


BMS provides a range of services to public and private landowners who require quality expertise in managing conservation of bushland and biodiversity in the Greater Sydney region.

The goal of the National Trust's Bushland Management team is to advocate and implement best practice methods for natural area restoration and management of our natural areas.


Due to expansion, BMS is seeking to employ an experienced Regional Manager for a permanent full-time role overseeing the Northern region of Sydney.

Applicants must have a passion for bush regeneration and natural area restoration, have the experience and capacity to coordinate and manage a number of sites across a region of Sydney, have an excellent ability to connect with key stakeholders, be competent in the use of technology, qualified in regeneration techniques and share our vision to be the best in the business.

What you've got - the essentials

  • Relevant TAFE qualification in Bush Regeneration, Conservation & Land Management or similar. Min Cert
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of bushland management and a commitment to preservation of the natural environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant environmental legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in provision of training, supervision and technical advice.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, especially report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Maps & Photo editing.
  • Knowledge & commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of WHS requirements.
  • Great communication, client relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in tendering for clients.
  • General project management (stock ordering, provision of materials, equipment, field staff allocation to projects etc),
  • Ability to generate all project monthly and annual reports and invoices relating to contracts.
  • Ability to conduct business according to National Trust's (NT) Integrated Management system (IMS) requirements and guidelines.
  • Ability to manage budgets.
  • Logical thinking and creative problemsolving ability.
  • Highly developed organisational skills
  • The ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (manual vehicle).

Also good to have - the desirables

  • Be able to positively promote the services of the National Trust of Australia (NSW) to clients.
  • Be prepared to improve relevant skills through further training.
  • Hold a current first aid certificate (or be willing to undertake training for one).
  • Have an understanding of the components of management plans for bushland areas.
