THE ROLE

This position involves providing Leadership in Child Protection Practice and has a specific focus on addressing sexual exploitation. The Child Protection Practice Leader/Practice Leader Sexual Exploitation is crucial in safeguarding children and young people from sexual exploitation. They are responsible for offering expert guidance and leadership, supporting and nurturing Child Protection Practitioners in incorporating theory and practice, showcasing expertise through case management interventions, systems enhancement, building relationships, and driving the necessary changes to ensure the safety, security, and growth of children and young individuals. One of the main objectives of this role is to better identify children at risk of sexual exploitation, collaborate with Victoria Police to prevent such occurrences, and aid young people in their recovery.

This role entails 0.5 Practice Leader Sexual Exploitation and 0.5 general Practice Leader.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Risk assessment and analysis - collects information from various sources and technologies to recognize, define, and strategize for the risks associated with each scenario. Utilizes a robust forensic perspective and professional judgment to evaluate the accessible evidence.
  • Child-centric and family-focused relationship-based practice - prioritizes the child and involves the family and social circle to provide prompt and proactive resolutions.
  • Practice leadership - guides children, families, and stakeholders through child protection assessment and decision-making in a transparent, knowledgeable, proactive, and assertive manner.

WORKING IN RURAL VICTORIA INCENTIVE External candidates moving to a regional area may qualify for incentives worth up to $22,000, while internal candidates relocating to a regional area could receive incentives worth up to $14,000. If residing and working in an area classified as 'remote' by the Australian Tax Office, you might also qualify for additional salary packaging options, such as mortgage interest, rental expenses, and household utilities.

As of June 2023, DFFH does not mandate proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.
