Working closely with the HR Manager, this position is responsible for supporting leaders in the Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT) in HR practices, HR policy, employee onboarding, life-cycle (EBA interpretation and advice), investigations, performance management and off-boarding.

The Role:

Working closely with the HR Manager, this position is responsible for supporting leaders in the Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT) in HR practices, HR policy, employee onboarding, life-cycle (EBA interpretation and advice), investigations, performance management and off-boarding.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Human Resource Officer will be responsible for:

  • Provide a high level of support to the Catholic Education Office (CEO) and School leaders in the delivery of services of Recruitment and Onboarding through the use of TechnologyOne.
  • Assist with the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and documents that support HR service delivery.
  • Deal with a range of Industrial and employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, mediation process, conflict and grievance resolution, bullying, harassment and breach of standards claim processes and resolutions.
  • Support the HR Manager with the end-to-end employee life-cycle for all CENT and senior school leadership staff including recruitment, on-boarding and professional development and appraisal assessment.
  • Provide advice to staff and leaders on the interpretation of the enterprise agreement, modern awards and employment contracts and employment law.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of workforce resourcing practices, processes, and service level standards by working collaboratively on a wide range of workforce planning, mobility, recruitment and retention projects.
  • To develop and implement reporting tools and indicators to identify insights and provide intelligence into the HR activities and monitor, review and evaluate and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve processes and efficiency in HR service.

Qualifications and Licenses required:

  • Human Resource or equivalent qualifications; or working towards such qualification.
  • A minimum of Five (5) years' relevant experience.
  • Driver's license.
  • Current Working with Children Check Ochre Card

This position involves working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment with legislation.
