About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to oversee our Recycled Fiber Plant and Waste Yard Areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring efficient processing of recycled materials, maintaining safety and environmental standards, and leading a team of dedicated staff.
Duties
Reporting to the Paper Mill Manager, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Operational Management - Oversee the daily operations of the recycled fibre plant and waste yard areas, ensuring efficient and cost-effective processing of recycled materials. Team Leadership - Supervise, train, and mentor a team of operators and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Process Optimization - Implement and monitor process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and sustainability. Safety Compliance - Ensure all operations comply with company safety policies and regulatory requirements, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions. Environmental Stewardship - Manage waste reduction initiatives and ensure proper handling and disposal of materials, aligning with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals. Budget Management - Develop and manage the operational budget, controlling costs while maximizing efficiency and output. Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with other departments, including procurement, production, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and meet production targets.What you will bring to the team
Tertiary qualification in Pulp and Paper systems Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role within the recycling, waste management, or paper manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of recycling processes, waste management practices, and related machinery and equipment. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
