This newly established service will provide person-centred and whole of person, accessible and integrated primary mental health care, and suicide prevention services along a stepped care continuum to underserviced and at-risk groups in the Northern Adelaide PHN Region.
We offer

Your opportunity
This position will provide Alcohol and Other Drug support services, including the delivery of culturally appropriate support for First Nations people, CALD and LQBTQI+ clients; provide warm referrals to culturally appropriate services and to provide specialist advise to management and staff on specific cultural and management issues.
This is a part time position working 19 hours per week, and the base salary range is $67, $72, pro rata) commensurate with experience and qualifications plus salary packaging, superannuation, leave loading (17.5%), and 5 additional days of paid wellbeing leave (pro rata for part timers).
Responsibilities will also include, but not limited to:
- Engage with families, stakeholders and appropriate agencies to develop a strong support network in the community.
- Work with each client's strengths to ensure their reconnection to country.
- Provide advice and coaching to the team in the provision of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focused services and community engagement
- Provide advice and support the continuity of positive and supportive relationships within the service from a cultural perspective.
- Support clients to complete activities in their treatment plan to complement existing clinical support
- Assist Clinicians to provide tailored, individual support for clients.
- Work in partnership with Clinicians to develop and deliver culturally appropriate groups and programs.
- Source and share culturally safe strategies, resources and information that could be helpful to a client's recovery and wellbeing.
- Support clients to access feedback mechanisms to provide complaints, compliments, and suggestions to the service.
- Provide advocacy, supporting clients to feel safe and to have their needs and preferences heard.
- Represent clients in wider consultations, committees, and meetings.
- Source and share culturally safe strategies, resources and information that could be helpful to a client's recovery and wellbeing.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you'll need:
- Identified position
- must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background
- Certificate 3 in one of the following areas:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
- Population Health
- Community Health Services and/or
- Experience in working with families and children (011yo) with complex mental health needs
- Experience in supporting First Nations communities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and negotiate practical outcomes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to proactively prioritise, multitask and work flexibly.
While not essential, we'd also love you to have:
- Local knowledge of services
- Previous experience working in family and or mental health services
