The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Officer to join the NSW EPA.

You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and reviewing programs and projects aimed at increasing resource efficiency and recycling within local government, businesses, and the community.


Your work will have a significant impact on promoting sustainable practices and reducing waste to achieve common goals and contribute to a more sustainable future.


About You
Ideally you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in targeted research, design, deliver, and review programs and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing performance indicators for projects and reporting on their progress.
  • Ability to manage budgets and keeping accurate records for projects, and preparing reports, briefings, and other written materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret NSW government policy as it relates to waste management and resource recovery.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of internal and stakeholders, including local government, businesses, and the community.

About the Team


The Education and Engagement Branch aim to protect human health from harmful contaminants and waste, understand the environmental behaviours of NSW citizens and build partnerships with key sectors and industries.


We do this by delivering local, regional, and state-wide programs targeting bushfire waste, lead and petroleum, asbestos and illegally dumped materials, building the capability of the EPA to engage with behaviour change interventions and delivering a partnership strategy for the EPA.
