We are looking for a unique person with a Mining Engineer background to join our growing Mining Financial Advisory & Analysis team.

Palaris is a truly global specialist advisory firm to the mining and resources sector. With more than 4,000 projects delivered in over 50 countries across 20 different commodity types, we are the trusted advisor to resource companies, financial institutions, equity investors, and government agencies.

Our service delivery is across mine advisory, decarbonisation, feasibility and mine optimisation studies, engineering, asset & risk management and project delivery.

Located in Newcastle, we want to hear from you if you have a foundation in mine engineering, ideally with exposure to resource modelling and a passion for the commercial aspects of mining.

You will have access to and be mentored by some of the best in the industry.

Over time, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills and take on a range of Analyst functions including:

  • Technical advisory, working on mining project due diligence for funds and banks, assisting with technical reviews, benchmarking, cost analysis, loan monitoring and financial modelling.
  • Work with mining companies on development, benchmarking, optimisation and decarbonisation studies, helping with ground up project costs and financial modelling, as well as supporting the studies technically within your own discipline area.
  • Work across our global offices, not constrained by commodity or country, with potential for site visits to greenfield projects and mining operations.
  • Learn or further develop your financial skills, while still supported in your own technical discipline by our highly experienced technical leads.

To be successful as a Financial Analyst (Mining) with us, you need this combination:

  • A Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Previous experience in resource modelling.
  • Professional membership or an ability to achieve membership to a recognised professional organisation (AusIMM or other)

Whilst not essential, if you have exposure to feasibility studies this would be highly regarded. If you are interested in completing formal qualification in mine finance and/or have skills in project financial modelling, we would really like to talk to you.
