About you
In addition to sharing our passion, to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of risk and issues management
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies eg. Waterfall, Agile, Prince2, Lean
  • Sound knowledge of contract and financial management processes
  • Significant previous experience managing complex projects and program management.
  • Experience in effectively managing multimilliondollar budgets
  • Experience in multivendor negotiations
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to problem solving

About the role

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support concept development and options analysis phases of projects
  • Prepare business cases and estimates for projects to present recommendations to reach final approvals.
  • Lead procurement and tendering activities, taking a strategic approach to procurement planning including the implementation of supplier panels
  • Lead high level contract negotiations and execution, in consultation with Legal and make recommendations in line with delegated financial authority.
  • Provision of regular status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage overall program delivery performance and take appropriate action to address any issues.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with Horizon Power's Project Management Methodology, and that the required project documentation is developed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Escalation to the Senior Manager Technology Projects for the purposes of seeking DFA approvals and informing of roadblocks/ situations that present potential risks, outside delegated authority.
  • Build and effectively manage various multidisciplinary, high performing, project teams.
  • Lead internal project team members through resource/workload allocation, expectation setting and managing performance, to meet project objectives.
  • Manage contractors/consultants throughout all phases of Project Delivery, fostering development and driving productivity
