About the role:


Crime Command is diverse and dynamic comprising operational and non-operational work areas, all of which are reliant on information technology and systems.

Located within Business Services Division, the IT Support Officer reports to the IT Co-Ordinator. The role provides IT support, advice and high-quality customer service to the whole of Crime Command.

Extensive liaison with internal and external stakeholders and technical experts is an integral component of the role to ensure Crime Commands IT requirements are met.

Your duties will include:

  • Analysing and enhancing business practices to improve and identify new IT solutions in an everchanging environment, including the provision of advice relating to information and communication technology software and hardware requirements (e.g., purchases, warranties and configuration).
  • Provide IT support, coordination, advice and highquality client services.
  • Manage IT service requests and liaise with relevant IT managers.
  • Advice and assistance with system testing, data services and data security.
  • Problem solving within a demanding and often time critical environment.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • The ability to solve IT related issues in a confident, friendly and professional manner throughout the Command.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the provision of information and communication technology support in a complex environment.
  • Ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
