The Storage and Data Protection crew ensure the security and recovery of our Group data systems.

As custodians of the data storage security and recoverability, they collaborate with engineering squads and partners to enhance system reliability and scalability through the implementation of DevOps & SRE practices.

With on-prem data centers and Public Cloud partnerships, our Storage and Data Protection Crew are responsible for the secure delivery and operation of our services.

Your Role

The Staff Systems Engineer, Data Protection, will influence, engineer, design, build, and run products and services. A senior contributor responsible for the delivery and operation of services hosted within our data centers and in Public Cloud.

To achieve this, you may expect to;

  • Provide strategic guidance on storage initiatives and solutions.
  • Identify, gain support for, and drive best practices across disaster recovery and data security.
  • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into pipelines and applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation software to monitor and respond to incidents.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure solutions using different tools.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to identify and address potential issues.
  • Lead efforts to establish and improve monitoring and alerting systems.

About You

Experience with Enterprise Storage management, Storage Area Network, Data Backup management, AWS services, Automation tools, Source control, and CI/CD tooling, Infrastructure as code pipelines, and Observability.

  • Storage management, Block, File and Object.
  • Storage Area Network management.
  • Data Backup management, MongoDB, Database development, Windows, Linux.
  • AWS foundation services, Automation tools.
  • Source control and CI/CD tooling.
  • Infrastructure as code pipelines and automation.
  • Observability with Grafana and Prometheus.
