Time Commitment

On Event Days

  • Time commitment can be flexible to suit the brief and your availability.
  • Events usually take place on Saturdays and Sundays, or at night, any night of the week.
  • Chinese New Year 2024
Start & End Dates
  • Starting ASAP in September 2023. The role can be ongoing for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive photography brief from Supervisor ahead of event
  • Knowledge of privacy requirements when shooting public events
  • Photographer to supply all photography equipment
  • Any post shoot photo editing required
  • Supply of final images in a timely manner post event
Selection Criteria

Relevant skills or experience required

  • Demonstrated professional level event photography skills
  • Good command of English. Mandarin/Cantonese or other dialect speaking skills will be highly regarded.

Desired personality traits

  • A confident, outgoing person who enjoys interacting with all types of people including children

Other requirements

Must carry a valid volunteer working with children check

The Chinese Museum is a Child Safe organisation with a Child Safety Code of Conduct. Proof of identity and a valid Working with Children check is mandatory.

Training and Support Plan

A museum induction and role training will be provided ahead of the event
