Key Worker - Early Childhood Intervention

Overview:
We are seeking a resourceful and organised individual to join our team as an Key Worker - Early Childhood Intervention.
Experience / Qualifications:

You can have a background in allied health including:
A:
A person who has a current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration as an Occupational Therapist.
B. A person who has a current AHPRA Registration as a Physiotherapist.
C. A person who has a current AHPRA Registration as a Psychologist.
D. A person who is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist as approved by Speech Pathology Australia.
E. A person has a bachelor's degree or higher and has current full membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc.
F. A person who is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
G.
A person who is either a member of the Australian Counselling Association or an accredited Registrant with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
H. A person who is an Accredited exercise physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
In your role as a Key Worker, you will provide early childhood intervention services to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families/ guardians.
You will work on behalf of our team who will be supporting you to help families to break down barriers to reveal children's true abilities.
As a Key Worker the day to day looks like:
- Demonstrate the values of CareMile
- Meet the responsibilities of your role including positive outcomes with children and families, contributions to the team and meeting key performance indicators
- Assess and communicate the child's development and ongoing progress.
- Plan, develop and coordinate supports with the child and family that reflect strengthsbased and familycantered approaches.
- Deliver supports to children and families that lead to positive outcomes, utilising a transdisciplinary key worker approach
- Facilitate a team around the child that promotes participation in family, community and cultural activities
- Ensure that supports are clearly documented, coordinated, and communicated to families and internal and external stakeholders
Expectations:
- Attended a family's home to conduct their first appointment, getting to know them, their child and goals
- Provided therapy at a preschool/school/afterschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
- Supported the parents of their child to find a local school that best suits their child's needs
- Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
- Facilitated with your background in other allied health to incorporate strategies and techniques to assist with children's therapy throughout their sessions.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- If you're an Occupational Therapist, be AHPRA registered
- If you're a Speech Pathologist, be SPA registered
- If you're an Educator, hold full Teachers Registration with the relevant State Education Authority (full membership of Developmental Educators Australia Inc)
- Early years' experience or Disability i.e. Special Education Qualifications
- Be passionate about providing a deeper level of support to children and families
- Be a great listener and have a positive approach to risk
- Have a drive to delivering high impact outcomes in children and families' lives
- Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check, etc.
- Hold a valid Victorian Driver's licence
