**About the role**

The role of the Youth Worker is to work in partnership with Key Service Providers to coordinate & deliver activities that support and engage vulnerable young people. By doing so, the Youth Worker will empower young people to make positive and informed life-choices.

This is a part time, fixed term contract role - 2 days per week. Based in Deer Park & working across Western suburbs.

The Youth Worker’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Develop strong relationships with customers, both face to face & over the phone, to understand their placement potential and the actions needed to assist them to be job ready
- Meet key performance indicators by referring young people into the program
- Conduct onsite & virtual meetings with stakeholders to increase referrals
- Encourage and support young people in acknowledging barriers especially those that hinder service support
- Engage with community partners to build presence in the region and to support the goal of sustaining referrals
- Organise daily schedules, accurate keeping of records & evidence
- Pick up customer, using pool car, to enable them to attend the program

**About you**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Proven capacity to build rapport & establish effective working relationships with a wide range of customers, services and professionals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and harmoniously within a team to achieve team goals.
- Demonstrated understanding of the barriers and issues faced by vulnerable young people.
- Demonstrated ability to provide activities and supports that genuinely interest and engage young people, empowering them to make positive choices and changes to their lives.
- Strong commitment to professinal development & continuous improvement systems
- Current Driver’s Licence

**_Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. Current Working with Children and National Police Checks are required and can be arranged for the suitable applicant._**
