The Opportunity

Using a social justice lens, you will work collaboratively with Community Restorative Centre (CRC) management and staff to develop and deliver a portfolio of transition case management services for men and women impacted by the criminal justice system in the Greater Sydney Metro area.

You will provide support for staff at a range of locations, including at head office in Canterbury, in Western Sydney and working remotely.

You may also have opportunities to work across all areas of the organisation.

Your role includes:

Team Leadership:You will provide formal supervision and informal support for team members using your strong interpersonal skills including your ability to communicate and engage confidently. You will have a strong focus on staff well-being.

Program and client support:You'll actively build positive relationships with Government, community and other services to source relevant support services. You'll work collaboratively with our program partners to ensure programs and staff in co-located sites are managed effectively. Staff support, stakeholder relations, project administration and troubleshooting will make up most of your day. You'll provide invaluable support to team members, and you'll approach every task with empathy and clients' goals front and centre.

Creating community connections for clients: You will support the team to deliver services using an outreach model pre
- and post-release, providing clients with practical and psychosocial supports and linking with relevant services in the community.

Data, administrative and assessment duties: Data collection and reporting to funders will be an important part of your role. You'll conduct general administrative duties, Workplace Health and Safety monitoring, and ensuring the team updates and maintains accurate case files and data entry.

Cultural leadership and safety: You'll provide leadership for the team in working in culturally appropriate ways in recognition of the unique cultural needs and over-representation of First Nations people in the criminal justice system.

Your usual work hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours work, as required.

To join us, you'll need:

  • Experience in effective people and service delivery management
  • Knowledge and experience of working with complex and compounding needs such as homelessness, criminal justice system involvement, alcohol and other drug use, mental health and experiences of trauma
  • Experience and skills in the provision of traumainformed care
  • A current NSW Driver Licence
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check and Criminal Record Check (please note, a criminal record is not a barrier to being considered for a role with CRC)
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and knowledge of issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CALD communities
  • The right to work in Australia
