The Role & The Team
As a Senior Service Assurance Specialist and reporting into the Service Assurance Lead, you will develop, implement, maintain, and apply risk systems for the purpose of assessing and qualifying strategic and operational risks, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. For example, you will help implement air traffic control accident causation models.
This role will see you Lead assurance activities to deliver insights in relation to gabs and deficiencies in the performance of key risk controls, compliance with internal and external requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. For example, our team investigate high profile safety incidents.
You will also lead and coordinate safety programs to improve the effectiveness controls. For example, you will promote safety lessons learnt to prevent reoccurrence. You will devise and implement improved ways of monitoring key service delivery controls and support the delivery of Information Technology driven enhancements to safety and risk systems, products and processes.

PD - Senior Service Assurance Specialist
The Person
You are a safety and risk management professional, and you ideally present with a background in a highly regulated industry as this will transfer well in our environment. You are tech savvy, and you enjoy data analytics. You work to exceed project goals and plan and coordinate work effectively, efficiently and with collaboration. You are compliant and methodical yet persuasive, captivating and engaging when presenting findings, facts or solutions to your audience. Your industry knowledge and advice is trusted and sought after.
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- Significant practical experience in safety risk management within a safety regulated industry (e.g. Aviation, Rail, Oil and Gas, Defence).
- Tertiary qualification in safety risk management, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating work, monitoring performance against deadlines and milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology to analyse numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information and propose workable solutions to a range of problems.
- Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and openly communicate self-insight such as an awareness of own strengths and weaknesses.
