Job Summary:

LRQA is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Assurance Specialist to join our team. As an Aerospace Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking complex business assurance assessments and recommending certification, deferral, suspension, withdrawal of certification, validation or verification against the appropriate standard(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business assurance assessments in accordance with current procedures, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary and/or international assessment teams effectively, ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed timescales, and coordinating team findings to reach conclusions.
  • Produce high-quality assessment reports or other reports, reflecting business assurance principles, in compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities and sales leads, and passing these onto appropriate colleagues.
  • Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues, escalating as appropriate.
  • Maintain professional competence by keeping abreast of technical and other developments in own area of expertise, maintaining CPD records, updating BA & IS CV, maintaining professional registrations, and producing records of competence as required.
  • Supervise induction/coaching/knowledge transfer for assigned new auditors, and coach auditors under training, recommending authorisation and further development activities as appropriate.
  • Participate fully in auditor meetings, developing materials, presenting, and coaching others in own area of expertise as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Aerospace auditor qualifications.
  • Thorough understanding of management systems/scheme requirements and their application via a business assurance approach.
  • Qualified to audit against more than one major standard, sector scheme, or a qualified MS Trainer ISO, ISO.
  • Understanding/appreciation of relevant legal/regulatory framework.
  • Substantial experience in third-party auditing/assessment, including system-level auditing and process-level auditing.
  • Understanding of the principles of client management principles and application within the role.
  • Experience in developing and managing complex technical projects.
  • Appreciation of the full range of MS products and services.
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
