About the Organisation
This is a large Federal Government department. The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch support the agency's business areas by providing corporate, procurement and property services. The Procurement team is responsible for partnering with business areas to procure goods and services for the Agency.

About the Roles
The

APS5 Procurement Officer is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing level administrative support to the Procurement team, managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Providing procurement advice and support to the broader Agency.
  • Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Procurement Policy and procedures.
  • Assisting with tracking value for money based outcomes and preparing reports against KPIs.
  • Preparing a range of procurement related documentation.
  • Entering, extracting and manipulating data to enable accurate Agency reporting.
  • Contributing to team and branch planning activities including identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Providing support and training for ongoing system and data projects.
  • Support continuous improvements projects where required, including and not limited to, drafting of project documentation, registers etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the Procurement Framework team to develop appropriate compliance checking process, and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage Conflict of Interest register for procurement staff, including liaising with individuals to ensure that it is completed.

Key Skills Required to excel in this role:

  • Previous procurement experience ideally in a government environment.
  • Adaptable, resilient with good problemsolving skills to manage challenges productively and positively.
  • Strong administrative experience with an exposure to compliance reporting.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or Procurement experience are desirable but not mandatory.
