Your new company

As an APS6 Procurement & Contracting Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Assistant Director to deliver a diverse range of contract management and procurement projects. Your responsibilities will span from overseeing intricate academic service procurements to executing swift, straightforward procurements for external service providers.

Your new role

  • Strategically plan, lead, and execute fast-paced, simple procurement activities.
  • Provide comprehensive support for complex contract management tasks.
  • Tackle intricate problem-solving and issues management.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across various levels, both internally and externally.
  • Take the initiative in learning client-level procurement and contract management practices.
  • Drive strategic initiatives aimed at elevating division-level business management operations.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A thorough understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the associated legislative and policy framework.
  • Practical knowledge of applying these frameworks to achieve results-focused outcomes.
  • Ability to independently initiate and judiciously manage general procurement and contract management issues.
  • Capability to forge and sustain positive relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, effectively gathering their input and communicating with clarity and precision.

What you'll get in return

To be considered for this role you must hold a permanent role in the APS and hold a Baseline Security clearance at minimum. This client is open to considering a high performing APS5 for a promotion or an attractive APS6 salary package is on offer exceeding other APS agencies.
