Head of Lending - Debt Investment - Impact

The Role
The Lending team provides in-house investment management expertise in private debt.

The fund currently has an existing loan fund, and several more loan funds in development with a pipeline of transactions and investor fund interest.

The Lending team provides end to end investment management with sectoral expertise in renewable energy (with the assistance of our clean energy transition team).

The Head of Lending will lead the small, nimble impact lending team managing a varied range of fund mandates.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Responsible for establishing and running the origination process positioning the fund as an impact only, nonbank lender in the market;
  • Working collaboratively with the Investor team to produce risk appetite statements (lending guidelines) for fund mandates that reflect investor objectives and can be executed in the private debt market;
  • Provide sign off on origination universe and return expectations for new fund mandates;
  • Supervising the lending process within the team including providing input and endorsement of loan credit assessments, supporting transactions through the investment committee process through to documentation and settlement;
  • Managing the loan pipeline including meaningful and timely reporting to management and Board;
  • Managing a small team of 4 lenders;
  • Supervising reporting of loan metrics against risk appetite and fund mandate deliverables; and
  • Broad stakeholder management and building of network of collaboration channels and syndication partners
  • Bachelor's degree in, finance, economics, or a relevant business qualification;
  • 10+ years of lending experience in origination, analysis or credit;
  • Significant track record in lending transaction execution;
  • A willingness to work in a small team and an emerging company;
  • Experience managing origination activity in a lending role;
  • Demonstrated industry experience in one of the key impact sectors
- property, renewables, regenerative agriculture;

  • People and stakeholder management experience;
