About the role
We currently have 1 Permanent Full Time Position located in Sydney, NSW, at TAFE NSW Ultimo Campus.

Don't have a TAE teaching qualification? No problem

As a professional educator, a TAFE Teacher's role is to help, construct, guide and enhance the learning process.

You will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, to enable students to qualify as the next generation Mechanical engineering Trades Workers, Hydraulic technicians, CNC machinists, Maintenance fitters and Manual machinists.

Our teacher's deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • A Certificate of Proficiency. With specialisation in one or more of the following trade areas, Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, PLC and CNC or CAD/CAM profile programming.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the industry relevant to your qualifications.

Would be an advantage to have the following:

  • Additional qualification such Certificate IV in Engineering (Fluid Power)
  • Experience in a variety of mechanical engineering fields that may include machine design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechatronics, fluid power, materials testing, prototyping, system development, implementation and maintenance, quality assurance and materials assessment
  • Exposure to a variety of manufacturing techniques (Standard machining and CNC, plastic and metal moulding/casting, sheet metal, steel fabrication)
  • Experience with designing mechanical equipment in a robotics or Automated Processing environment would be Highly Desirable.
