The Opportunity
This will be a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly team and educate our musicians of tomorrow.

You will be responsible for:

  • Familiarising yourself with course curriculum and teaching the course requirement effectively.
  • Preparing all lessons and demonstrations, ensuring the presentation conforms to the best educational practices and align to the unit of competency outcomes.
  • Proactively develop course content in consultation with the Head Teacher and SkillsPoint.
  • Be an effective classroom teacher, and able to deliver the curriculum in a fun, creative and engaging manner.
  • Be confident in differentiating within the classroom to engage students of all musical abilities.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Minimum Diploma (or equivalent) qualification in Music or related field i.e Music Performance, Business, Sound, Live Production, Composition
  • Minimum of three years postqualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
  • TAE 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.

Highly Regarded

  • Proven experience as a Classroom teacher in the fields of music, sound or live production.
  • Experience in the use of DAW packages such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, or Music Performance, Business, Composition, Sound or Live Production
  • Demonstrated understanding of and proven experience in implementing contemporary methodologies in teaching and positive behaviour support for student development and learning.
  • Industry experience within the music industry and continuous engagement with current industry practise.
