Your role
As an Enterprise Risk Lead at the SEC, you will be responsible for supporting the SEC business in implementing and operalising the Enterprise Risk Framework. Specifically, you will be assisting the business in developing or uplifting their risk profiles and mitigation strategies while also ensuring key risks are appropriate identified and reported for new products, services and investments. As the SEC grows, there is an opportunity to build and lead a team to support its future activities in this space.

This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and sustain the SEC Risk Management Framework.
  • Be the primary contact for all risk management matters by providing access to and expertise on a broad range of risk management and monitoring disciplines.
  • Identify, assess and priorities risks across business, projects and potential new investments via conducting assessment workshops as required.
  • Design, develop and implement robust risk treatment and management plans.
  • Provide timely feedback and develop reports to the Senior Leadership Team and the Risk and Compliance Committee on key risk matters.
  • Provide advice and support to the business on the SEC controls assurance framework and assist in executing the annual controls assurance program.
Who you are:
Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
  • Significant experience with implementation and maintaining risk management frameworks in an infrastructure type business.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, risk management, information systems or any other relevant degree as minimum.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to partner and develop relationships within the business.
  • Previous experience in building and managing risk registers and executive risk reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience in an Australian east coast energy retailer or gentailer.
  • Understanding and knowledge of ISO31000 or any other risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in an assurance function or have conducted controls assurance/ testing programs.
