We are seeking qualified Therapy Assistants to join the team at Bethanie Beachside Aged Care Home in Yanchep on a casual basis to provide coverage for leave and other absences. Bethanie Beachside is one of our larger sites with 160 beds and residents have the choice of single or double rooms. We offer a range of amenities, from secure dementia care through to on-site cafe services and a busy social calendar.
The successful applicant would be available to work across the following shifts as required:
- 9am - 4pm
- 10am - 6pm
- 11:30am - 6pm
We are looking for individuals with a passion for working with people of all abilities and backgrounds. Our Therapy Assistants have an enthusiastic and creative approach to their work and are able to support our residents' strengths and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for groups and individual residents
- Adapt activities to residents' level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
- Address physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents
- Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer-based
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other healthcare setting
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Experience working with residents with dementia would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written capacities with care recipients, families, and team members
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Willingness to uphold the vision, mission, and values of The Bethanie Group
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
