The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in the North Metropolitan area. This is an ongoing casual position that requires the successful candidate to work collaboratively with our occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities and programs for residents
- Prepare and assist with the mobilization and transfer of residents
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of records, statistics, and progress notes
- Meet residents' personal care needs, safety, and comfort while driving satisfactory completion of planned programs
- Certificate III or IV in Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as an OTA in the aged care sector
- Current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices
- Ability to relate to older individuals with empathy and understanding
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven success working collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated skills prioritizing workload and managing time effectively
- Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage)
- NDIS Screening (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks
- Evidence of Flu and COVID vaccinations (including Booster if eligible)
- Availability to attend a paid 2-day induction at our Rivervale Training Institute
