The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in the North Metropolitan area. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents to maintain their independence and engage in meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting resident activities and outings, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, statistics, and progress notes, as required by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist with mobilizing and transferring residents, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Meet residents' personal care needs, safety, and comfort, while driving satisfactory completion of planned programs.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to older people. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III or IV in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as an OTA in the aged care sector.
- Current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices.
- Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understanding.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven success working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated skills prioritizing workload and managing time effectively.
- Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage).
- NDIS Screening (or willingness to obtain at interview stage).
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks.
- Evidence of Flu and COVID vaccinations (including Booster if eligible).
- Availability to attend a paid 2-day induction at our Rivervale Training Institute.
