The Department


The principle purpose of SBS News and Current Affairs is to provide accurate, balanced and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms.

It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues and to share a diversity of perspectives on key issues.


The Role
Partnering with the Director of News and Current Affairs & Business Manager you will:

  • Work closely with the divisional Production Managers and Coordinators of SBS News and Current Affairs
  • Anticipate, prioritise and manage the schedule and communications of a busy executive, as well as assist in the smooth running of the News and Current Affairs Division
  • Be a central point of contact for News and Current Affairs (NACA) providing broad stakeholder engagement and assisting/supporting at all levels of the organisation
  • Manage and coordinate the SBS News and Current Affairs Internship program and Cadetship recruitment (yearly)

About you

  • You're confident in your ability, use your initiative and work well with mínimal supervision
  • Have an ability to foster strong relationships at all levels, including Senior Executives and other Divisional Executive Assistants
  • You are passionate about contributing to a diverse and inclusive working environment
  • Can coordinate and manage administrative projects and events as required
  • You're a quick thinker and problem solver, who can manage tight deadlines
  • Have excellent time management skills and strong writing skills
  • You have Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or Admin Business Partner experience (preferred)
