About the Role
This role supports the Division of Surgery to meet its elective surgery admission requirements for patients undergoing surgery.
Reporting to the Elective Surgery Access Manager, this role is pivotal in organising surgery for patients and improving outcomes through timely care delivery.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be the central point of contact for patients waiting for elective surgery. This ensures continuity of care throughout their surgical journey.
This is a Full Time Fixed Term role funded until June 30, 2027.
You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards. This will be achieved through providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients.

What you'll achieve:
Integrates nursing and health care knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe and effective care. Participate in quality improvement activities. Participate in professional development to enhance nursing practice. Demonstrate analytical skills in accessing and evaluating health information and research evidence. Practice within a professional & ethical nursing framework.Classification for this position will range from YP3 - YP9, Grade 2 Year 2 to Grade 2 Year 8 (FTE base salary $71,333 to $95,378 per annum, plus superannuation).
Your skills and experience:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio (PPP). About the Elective Surgery Access Team
Comprised of twenty staff members, together we organise surgery for more than 20,000 patients per year.
