The Delivery Services Learning & Talent Development Manager (L&TD), will be responsible for executing the strategy for learning and development initiatives that support the business objectives of AMZL Australia to include all Delivery Station Operations teams.

They will play a critical role in the ACES Learning team supporting change & development within the organization and ensuring all training intervention represent best practice and is industry leading.


The L&TD, Delivery Services ACES leader is responsible for using the Learning Organization as a lever to develop and implement standard work practices and improve safety, quality, and performance results, with a primary focus on delivering core learning programs (new hire onboarding, vendor onboarding, technology training, other site-specific implementations), local area vendor performance, and Training Return on Investment (ROI).

Reporting to the Delivery Services L&TD Manager, you will partner with the ECCF and WW Learning teams to ensure the driver training content meets the requirements for all regions where AU AMZL operates, determining current and future skill needs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Have a detailed understanding of training requirements for all drivers across the various driver programs in operation.
  • Foster the development and growth of Amazon employees (onboarding, mentoring, teaching, etc.)
  • Work closely with customers to craft training programs that will lead to higher driver competence and operations delivery.
  • Ensure that the Learning Department creates/updates accurate and useful information for Training schools, PMVs, SJIs, and other training aids/visuals.
  • Work closely with local and global Learning teams, the ACES, Safety team(s), Delivery Station teams and Last-Mile tech teams to ensure training is aligned with workflows for associates.
  • Ensure that training is tracked and recorded, including progress and skill sets.
  • Coordinate with Business Coach teams to ensure corrective actions for common errors are incorporated into coaching programs.
  • Build / Regionalize metrics/reporting/analytics and an audit program to measure the effectiveness of training.
  • Develop new, innovative distribution methods for training drivers & create methods to train drivers in many different languages
  • Ensure Driver Trainers and Learning Coordinators are well trained and training modules are delivered as planned.


This is a 'sleeves rolled up' role when you will be setting the direction for training delivery, ensuring that it is executed to plan.

  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Knowledge of instructional theories: adult learning, on the job learning, knowledge management theories, principles in both virtual and classroom instruction
  • Proven ability to actively use training data to track, trend, and manage training efforts
  • A strong focus on internal needs and satisfaction, with an emphasis on demonstrating return on investment in training
  • Projectmanagement experience in a matrix organization
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively while executing methodically with high attention to detail and operational excellence
