NOPSEMA (the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority) is the regulator for Australia's offshore energy industry, overseeing the protection of Commonwealth waters and ensuring the safe and environmentally responsible development and safe operation of offshore oil and gas, greenhouse gas storage and renewables activities in Australian waters.
- Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering experienced in offshore energy facilities.
- Process or Reliability Engineering experienced in predictive and proactive maintenance management in offshore energy facilities.
- Management of Asset Integrity programs.
- Offshore Electricity Infrastructure.
- Operational or regulatory management within a safety case regime.
In the role of Regulatory Specialist, you will assess safety cases and associated documents and inspect offshore operations and support NOPSEMA's investigations of accidents and incidents.
You will also provide specialist advice to, and on behalf of, the Authority and represent NOPSEMA and engage with industry and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Your day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:_
Develop, maintain and adhere to NOPSEMA core regulatory processes particularly: assessments, regulatory compliance monitoring, enforcement, reporting and analysis and industry and stakeholder relationship management.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Proven ability to identify, analyse and diagnose problems in a logical and rational manner and demonstrate a creative approach to problem solving.
Proven experience in dealing with the safety case approach to safety regulation.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of management.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a relevant industry particularly the offshore or onshore Energy industry.
