We are seeking experienced event operations staff to assist with the bump in, operational delivery, and bump out of Catering Logistics for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in March and April in Melbourne.

All Roles Overview


Supporting the catering functional area through the back of house logístical delivery to all corporate and public catering outlets and bars.


Pre-event you will be responsible for the acceptance of deliveries of beverage (soft drink, water, beers, wine, spirits) and stock to the event site warehouse.

This stock will then be distributed to outlets across the event precinct and loaded into cool rooms and fridges. You will also assist in the installation of furniture and fixtures into outlets.


During the event, you will assist in the movement of stock across the event site to maintain adequate levels across all outlets.


Post-event you will be responsible for the pack down of outlets and the return of stock to the event site warehouse.

You will help to stocktake all returned stock and pack it ready for dispatch to the next event or return to suppliers.

This is a hands-on, physical role, and you will be required to lift and move stock (up to 20kg).

Requirements:

Valid Forklift Licence

Strong proficiency/experience operating a Forklift

Construction Induction (White Card) - Mandatory Requirement

Valid Driver's Licence (driving the automatic site Utes/flatbed trucks to deliver stock to outlets) - Mandatory Requirement

Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
(preferred, not essential)

Physical labour and heavy lifting is required.

GEMA ON TOUR - FORKLIFT OPERATOR AND EVENT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR- 27th March - 6th April

  • This is the GEMA Group's food truck sector of the business and with F1 we will have upwards of 130 food trucks arriving on site to a staggered schedule during bump in
  • We are currently looking for a strong operational person to work closely with the GEMA ON TOUR Operations Manager to assist with the bump in and out of the food trucks and stocking/restocking beverages of all Food truck outlets across the event site.
  • Strong organisational skills required
  • Experience in catering logistics in large events or venues preferred.
  • You will have strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • You will have excellent spatial awareness (ensuring Food Trucks are in correct location and positioned within the marked boundary of their specific outlet location)
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • In conjunction with GOT Operations Manager, supervise the bump in and out of Food Truck outlets across the event site.
  • Coordinate the movement and replenishment of stock across outlets.
  • Monitoring the inventory of outlets and reporting stock levels into the event manager
  • Ensure all OH&S polices and legislative requirements are followed.

When you are not bumping in food trucks or restocking them, you will be expected to assist the broader GEMA/Spark team with the Catering Logistics Operations in the compound and across the site at large.

Strong Event Labour/Operations background required.
