Job Description

The mission of the Square Compliance Quality Control (QC) team at Square is to offer timely and constructive feedback on decision-making processes, identify trends, enhance procedures, and suggest ways for improved efficiency. This is accomplished by reviewing decisions made by the Compliance Team. We are seeking a Compliance Quality Control Analyst to help with QC assessments of decisions made by our global Compliance operations teams, with a specific focus on cases from Japan and Australia. The role involves providing training, identifying gaps, recommending process improvements, and reporting to the Square Compliance Quality Control Lead.

This position allows remote work from Australia or Japan. Keep in mind that this role involves non-traditional work hours across international time zones.

Qualifications

You Will:

  • Assess a variety of decisions stemming from compliance-related alerts.
  • Analyze data to observe patterns and identify areas for improvement, develop procedures, and provide training for consistency.
  • Offer continuous quality coaching.
  • Collaborate with team leads to suggest policy and procedure enhancements.
  • Address QC escalations, disputes, and inquiries.
  • Possess, or the ability to quickly acquire, knowledge of Compliance team workflows to evaluate decisions against procedures.
  • Understand regulatory framework and compliance mandates, particularly focusing on applicable AML regulations such as customer identification procedures, due diligence best practices, sanction screening requirements, and anti-money laundering protocols.

You Have:

  • Over 1 year of Compliance QC/QA experience.
  • Background in a financial institution or related FinTech payments sector.
  • Familiarity with utilizing and writing SQL queries.
  • Prior experience with a global compliance team.
  • Proficiency in Looker and experience in creating complex dashboards.
  • Experience in analyzing and presenting trends to management using extensive datasets.
