About the role


We are looking for a Learning Assistant to assist in the implementation of the teaching and learning programs in Kindergarten to Year 6.

You will work closely with and under the supervision of qualified teachers the Head of Learning Services to provide support for students


The Learning Assistant will work as a cooperative member of the team in order to provide an educational program appropriate to the interests and developmental needs of the children.

The position assists in providing an amiable, flexible, creative, stimulating and safe environment for the children. The role involves interacting with children and parents and assisting in the implementation of the learning program.

The successful applicant:

- will have qualifications in School-based support or Learning Interventions at a Certificate, Diploma level or above
- must have relevant and demonstrated experience in similar roles
- will have experience working with students with learning needs, such as ASD, ADHD and Dyslexia
- displays a genuine interest and knowledge of current practice in the area of Additional Learning Needs and respect for the potential of all children
- will possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- will have high level verbal communication skills
- can work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team.
- must hold a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain this prior to commencement
- will be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School's program
- will have current Anaphylaxis, First Aid, CPR and Asthma Management certificates or be willing to obtain this prior to commencement
- will have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain prior to commencement

This is a part-time 0.75 load position commencing January 2023.

There are occasions where you may be required to attend staff or parent teacher meetings or go on excursion to assist a student, therefore we require some flexibility.
