About the Role
- Win and expand profitable ventures by formulating new business strategies, managing client relationships, preparing tenders, and leading the Pre-Contracts team.
- Safeguard and enhance revenue by proactively nurturing relationships with high-value clients.

Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Key account management: Cultivate and sustain strategic business partnerships with key clients and industry associates, resulting in viable opportunities.


Strategic planning:
Identify present and future markets and industry trends.
Analyze potential business opportunities, assess major prospects, evaluate the chances of securing a project, and allocate resources to convert these opportunities into successes.
Conduct financial appraisals of prospects to ensure financial feasibility, meeting margin expectations, and complying with risk standards.

Lead the new business teams to convert prospects into projects through the EOI, Tender, and Post Tender phases, until contract award.

Lead or take part in post-tender negotiations, contract formation and award, and project commencement.
Supervise a seamless handover from the tender team to the delivery team.
Collaborate with business development personnel during the initial account management phase and with project staff on ongoing key client projects

People management:
Establish, lead, and enhance the skills of the new business team within a conducive employee relations framework.
Perform all tasks in line with JH policies, processes, systems, and protocols

What we are seeking:
  • Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, or Construction Management

Experience:
Proven track record in sales or marketing within the construction or related sector.
Established relationships within the Queensland market with key clients.
Strategic planning and implementation
Business growth and entrepreneurial skills
Leadership and management of multiple tender teams
Contract, commercial, and financial management
Comprehensive assessment of commercial, safety, environmental, and quality risks and implementing risk controls
Complex project and delivery management
In-depth expertise in a specialized sector
