A new Aboriginal Liaison Officer Squad has been deployed across the NT in a bid to help strengthen relationships between police and Indigenous communities.

In April, with the support of TITEB Employment Services, Tenisha Tipungwuti and Jerone-Nim Tipumantumirri commenced as Police Liaison Officers at Wurrumiyanga, creating a positive link between local community members and Wurrumiyanga Police.

While the role can be busy and challenging at times, both officers are enjoying their work.

According to Tenisha "it's a great job, it's always different."Jerone said they are "making it easier for the police to do their job".Both Tenisha and Jerone have regular contact with TITEB staff who offer post-placement support.

This year, Tiwi artists have once again done us proud, with four Telstra NATSIAA Finalists fromIn June 2023, TITEB commenced an 18-month Job Trials program.
