Due to continual growth, we are seeking a motivated and energetic purchasing officer, who plays a critical role in the business by ensuring that the company obtains the necessary goods and services in a timely manner, at the best possible price while also maintaining high quality standards and strong supplier relationships.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying the business's procurement needs and requirements.
  • Forecast and purchase to maintain inventory levels to enable reliable supply, whilst maintaining efficient stock turns.
  • Researching and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Requesting and analysing quotations and proposals from suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible terms, pricing and quality.
  • Check purchase requisitions for approvals and appropriate authority limits.
  • Monitor and resolve all reported discrepancies, coverage, shortage, and damaged goods and or materials.
  • Reviewing all procurement procedures and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that the company's procurement needs are met (develop purchasing plans and find potential vendors/partners).
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and resolving any issues or disputes.
  • Monitoring and tracking supplier performance and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as finance and operations teams, to ensure procurement needs are met.
  • Conducting market research and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Implementing costsaving strategies and optimising procurement processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities.

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful for this role applicants must:

  • Be reliable with high attendance record.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Purchasing / Procurement position.
  • Be able to prioritise high volume of work and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Have exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have a positive cando attitude, willingness to learn.
  • Have the ability to develop positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suit especially Excel.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Have full working rights in Australia.
