About the role:

The Aurizon Bulk business is experiencing significant growth and part of our growth strategy is to have the right support in place to ensure that safety remains the number one focus during this exciting transformation.

This Safety Partner role, which supports the Bulk NSW portfolio, will see you supporting the development and implementation of safety initiatives and compliance activities that uplift BU safety capability, capacity, and performance.


  • Work collaboratively with corporate peers to ensure alignment between the enterprise and business unit safety health and environment activities.
  • Provides safety advice, tactical and process coaching to the relevant leadership team.
  • Undertake governance activities to monitor compliance with appropriate safety related statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations and company policies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of safety policies, programs and processes, and work in teams to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to a highperformance culture through fostering Aurizon's values, meeting Aurizon's performance standards and championing safety initiatives

About you:
You are an experienced safety professional from heavy industry, able to influence at all levels.

You can have those courageous conversations with frontline leaders, whilst being a trusted advisor to the Leadership team and have proven success in working across a broad stakeholder group to deliver results.


  • 2 years plus experience as an experienced safety professional.
  • Preferred qualification/certifications in safety related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with safety legislation/regulation.
  • Workplace Health and Safety Legislation understanding.
  • Safety related project lead and delivery.
  • Management of internal stakeholders.
  • Risk assessment and risk management
