ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a temporary full-time position with possible extension.


This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager Patient Safety in the development and implementation of patient safety systems and the promotion of the culture of safety across all healthcare settings in the Ambulance Service.

The position will also assist the Senior Manager Patient Safety in supporting and maintaining effective clinical risk and incident management strategies.

The position will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager Patient Safety in clinical review processes, root cause analysis RCA and RCA training and with all activities relating to Quality Systems Assessment.

ABOUT YOU

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Applicants must hold all required certifications, registrations and qualifications including current credentialing as a Paramedic
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant clinical experience in the out of a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of clinical governance, patient safety and clinical quality improvement, including incident management processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of personcentred care, and an ability to model and promote behaviours in line with NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Ambulance values.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills in interacting effectively with clinical staff, senior managers and external stakeholders, including effective written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in dealing with large volumes of complex information in a timely and efficient manner including demonstrated computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet and experience in databases, data acquisition, collation and presentation.
  • Understanding of quality and safety processes in acute health care environment, preferably prehospital, or health related industry.
  • Knowledge of cultural change, human factors and quality and safety techniques.
