Psychosocial Recovery Coach/support Coordinator

Ethical Caring Group is looking for compassionate, ethical and knowledgeable Psychosocial Recovery Coaches to provide exceptional and personalised support services to our existing (and new) NDIS participants.
The Recovery Coach position is an evolving role within the NDIS, which aims to support participants with a psychosocial disability who require support to manage complex challenges in their day to day lives.
The aim of the role is to support the participant to build capacity so that the participant can experience greater social and economic independence.
You will be collaborating with the participant to build an individual recovery plan and supporting them to implement that plan in a way that works for them.
Recovery coaches will focus on coaching participants to have greater involvement in managing their lives.This is not a role where you will be "doing" things for the participant (although if appropriate, this may occasionally be part of the job) You will be supporting the participant to find ways to improve their mental health so they can manage their own lives.
Recovery Coaches will work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan, and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports.
Please note:
This role includes being able to deliver NDIS Suppport Coordination which involves supporting participants to work with their providers, the NDIS and other stakeholders to implement their NDIS plan.
Recovery Coaches will be expected to support plan reviews, and all aspects of liaising with the NDIS with the participant
.The role is not a counselling, life coaching,or a support work role.
This position will be based in the greater Brisbane region - however, at times you may be required to work from other locations and remotely.
As a Recovery Coach your role will include (but is not limited to);
- Assist in identifying the ongoing support needs of people within the community who live with mental health
- Develop and support a recovery action plan in collaboration with the participant.
- Assist participants to coordinate and take control over a range of their supports.
- Identify supports to suit individual needs within the parameters of their funding plan.
- Provide ongoing support to connect people with their greater community and other identified
- Help address barriers and issues that arise for the participant.
- Support and assist with NDIS plan reviews by keeping recoveryfocused notes and writing 3 monthly progress reports in line with the recovery plan model.
- Maintain excellent boundaries while developing excellent relationships with participants
- Have high levels of insight and self arweness so you are able to manage your own mental health and wellbeing while carrying out the role
- Identify potential improvements to existing services and processes.
- Maintain clear, concise and comprehensive documentation
- Actively participate in all necessary training and development opportunities.
- Immediate reporting of all concerns to management.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
You must have great communication (both written, verbal and non-verbal) skills, and have a genuine awareness of Disability Services and Support Networks within the community.
ESSENTIAL:
You will have a Certificate IV in Mental Health and/or your own experience of mental health and recovery and/or experience caring for somebody who has experienced mental health concerns.
You must have a minimum of one year's work as a support worker/other relevant position with checkable references.You must have a car, full drivers licence and comprehensive insurance
You must have your blue and yellow cards and police check
