About the Role


Our RMO/CMO is responsible for maintaining the clinical care of our ICU patients under the care of Intensive Care Specialists and assisting in the provision of an efficient, safe and professional medical service to patients under the direction of the Intensivists and Staff Physicians, as well as VMO's providing specialist care.


We provide Intensive Care coverage of patients post operatively from a range of specialities, as well as patients admitted from our Emergency Department.


This position will work in the Intensive Care Unit/Close Observation Unit, providing 24-hour coverage supported by the Intensivists, as well as night hospital coverage.

This position is on a permanent roster, week on, week off on 12 hours shifts. This consists of days to nights.

The position also covers the Emergency Team within the hospital along with ALS trained nursing staff.

This position will commence on 27 August 2024.

About You


To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate a strong clinical skillset with Intensive Care or Anaesthetic experience, with the ability to manage a broad spectrum of patients across our facility.


You will also bring:

  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience
  • Hold appropriate Visa/Residency status to work in Australia
  • Current resuscitation skills including BLS, ALS, PALS and airway support skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Renal Replacement Therapy
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Mechanical Ventilation
  • Ability to mentor education and training within the ICU

The hospital provides surgical services 7 days a week, as well as operating a busy Emergency Department that accepts and public to private patients, with a public patient contract with Queensland Health.
