Overview
The team responsible for Student Transitions and Employability plays a crucial role in coordinating and executing initiatives that engage students in their academic journey, university experience, and prepare them for the workforce. They are in charge of planning and executing evidence-based activities including career and employability readiness, as well as transition programs. Collaboration across all student service points within the University is essential, as is ensuring a seamless student journey strategy with outstanding customer service.

The Role
The chosen candidate for the Career and Industry Consultant position will have the responsibility of offering comprehensive career and employability guidance to current students and recent graduates in an interactive and dynamic manner. They will collaborate with ECU academic staff to incorporate career development teachings into the curriculum, and organize events to increase career awareness, job hunting skills, and employment readiness. We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic professional with in-depth knowledge of the job market and industry trends. The ideal candidate will be a cooperative team player dedicated to nurturing the career aspirations of ECU students and enhancing their confidence.

Key Criteria

The ideal candidate should have experience in:

  • Providing specialized career and transition guidance and support to students and staff concerning student careers, employability, and transitions;
  • Planning and executing a variety of school-based events aimed at aiding and supporting students in developing career awareness, job search skills, and employment prospects;
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding job prospects for students; and
  • Possessing a relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in supporting students to achieve academic and employment success.

Apart from technical skills, you should also exhibit personal attributes aligned with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Courage, and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration
This position offers a salary of $97,113 to $108,813 per annum pro rata plus a 17% university superannuation contribution.
