About the role:

This position entails providing engineering expertise, along with scoping, designing, and estimating distribution, sub-transmission, and station projects. It involves overseeing minor survey tasks, asset recording, and implementing relevant policies and procedures for distribution and sub-transmission assets.

What you'll deliver:

  • Offer effective engineering design and advice for underground lines, overhead lines, and substations according to set standards and safety protocols.
  • Review designs by others based on agreed standards and company guidelines.
  • Contribute to developing design standards and policies in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize drafting techniques to create project plans for substations, overhead, and underground distribution systems.
  • Provide design management to ensure timely and quality project delivery within budget constraints.
  • Offer technical expertise and mentorship to design team members.
  • Monitor and optimize time, costs, and quality of network designs.
  • Maintain proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD applications, and other relevant drafting systems.

To succeed in the role, you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in distribution design projects.
  • Required registration such as NER or RPEng.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proven skills in project Design Management.
  • Experience in customer and stakeholder negotiation.
