Mechanical Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join us on a 6-12 month contract, working closely with a team on a significant project involving large rotating equipment.
The main focus will be on mechanical design and detailing of high-integrity moving mechanical components, as well as support systems like couplings, instrumentation, lubrication, and more.
You will be working 37.5 hours per week, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.
The Senior Design Engineer/Mechanical Engineers will be responsible for:
- Designing transmission systems and components
- Developing or re-engineering designs for new applications and test equipment
- Interpreting customer specifications and standards
- Collaborating with team members from different disciplines
- Creating documentation, proposals, manuals, etc.
- Generating component and assembly drawings and handling technical documentation
- Providing technical support and problem-solving with other teams
To excel in this role, we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of product design and analysis methods
- Understanding of Machinery Safety regulations
- Familiarity with manufacturing techniques
- Commercial awareness and ability to work in a team effectively
- Preferred experience in rotating equipment design
