About the role

Do you have extensive knowledge and experience in Development Assessment? Elevate your career by stepping into this key leadership role within our Sustainable Places Group, enabling you to share your expertise with a diverse and well-structured team and positively influence key decisions to align The City's current and future needs.

Collaborating with the Section Leader Development Assessment and a supportive and technical team this role provides provision of expert planning advice, assessment and determination of development applications and overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Development Assessment Team

The key strategic objective of the Sustainable Places Group is to deliver "place shaping" and ensure that the strategic spatial vision for Coffs Harbour is delivered through integrated planning, development assessment and appropriate compliance and regulatory enforcement with the City of Coffs Harbour Development Assessment Team, overseeing a range of DAs, including a high volume of 'fast track 'residential development as well as complex development proposals which can be of a high risk and political nature and will require a fair and equitable, prompt and professional service delivered to our customers.

What's on offer?

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Previous leadership experience in a development assessment role.
