About the OpportunityThe health services at Clarence boasts 3 modern health centers that deliver high standards of health care to about 1700 inmates from various backgrounds and cultures. You will offer primary care based on a patient-focused approach allowing patients to actively engage in their health management. The team collaborates closely with correctional staff to provide all-encompassing and integrated patient-focused health services that:
  • Deliver primary, acute, and emergency care based on a patient-focused approach enabling custodial patients to actively engage in their health management
  • Provide comprehensive and integrated patient-focused health services that address and prevent communicable diseases, and actively manage chronic conditions
  • Support patients in their reintegration into the community

What you will be responsible for
  • Collecting information for prisoner assessments
  • Administering medications as per guidelines under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Performing dressings, monitoring Blood Glucose Levels, and other clinical interventions within the prescribed scope of practice
  • Coordinating with on-duty Registered Nurse(s) regarding patient treatment
About you - desired skills & experience
  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 1-year full-time postgraduate experience (or part-time equivalent)
  • Experience in primary health, rural health, or emergency nursing (preferred)
