is Australia's first integrated centre for perinatal mental health care and provides mental health treatment and support to new parents.

We have an exciting 0.8 and permanent position available for an experienced Mental Health Professional looking to join the team The Senior Mental Health Professional will support intake process for inpatient and outpatient services, as well as consultation and liaison support for those post-discharge from the inpatient unit.

The inpatient unit is a state-wide unit that provides acute perinatal mental health assessment and treatment to mothers with significant mental illnesses who are co-admitted with their baby under one year old. There are 8 public beds and 2 private beds, with 2 of these beds having capacity to be a high dependency unit.

The outpatient services include the Parent Aide Unit, Parenting Support Centre, Perinatal Psychology, Perinatal Psychiatry, Families in Mind, and Private Day Programs. Catherine's House also has specialist consulting suites, with clinicians having the option to lease rooms on a sessional basis as a private practitioner.

Salary range: $ $64.54 (HP Level 4) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you'll be doing

As our Senior Mental Health Professional you will play a role in service integration, research, workforce development across Catherine's House and Maters broader mental health services. Typical tasks of the role include:

Provide clinical leadership to the Intake Outreach Team Lead intake processes for Catherine's House Support discharge planning and post-discharge consultation and liaison Provide evidence based perinatal and infant mental health assessment, triage, intake and treatment to ensure parents, babies and families receive consistent coordinated care that addresses their psychological, emotional, and physical needs Manage a complex caseload of referrals to Catherine's House Provide quality clinical practice to parent-baby dyads and their families and deliver evidence-based, group and individual assessment and interventions within the framework of Catherine's House' model of care. Facilitate access to mental health services for mothers and babies with perinatal and infant mental health needs or ensure other adequate follow up is arranged for their ongoing care upon discharge, including conducting 7-day follow-up appointments Liaise with various specialists and participate in psychosocial meetings, family meetings and multidisciplinary care review meetings Contribute to a network of referral options and information for consumers with perinatal and infant mental health concerns In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, contribute to the integration and evaluation of strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement and research Act to enhance the professional development of self and others Demonstrate active involvement in meeting the clinical unit's and organisational goals, including KPI's

About you

We are searching for someone who is/has:

An Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) in Queensland or eligible to be authorised (you have worked primarily in a mental health setting for at least two (2) years- thereby enabling you to apply for recognition as an AMHP after completion of relevant training) Expertise in infant and / or perinatal mental health Experience in ambulatory / community / outpatient settings Research and/or quality improvement experience Has or is willing to work towards specialist perinatal and infant mental health qualifications Advanced clinical skills and experience in infant and / or perinatal mental health with the ability to lead complex referral processes Demonstrated experience and skills in mental health clinical assessment, triage, discharge planning, linkages with support services, and brief interventions, across the continuum of care, particularly in relation to perinatal and infant mental health High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders Experience contributing to development of processes, policies and procedures Able to manage a high level of clinical risk with a strong ability to problem solve and prioritise workload

Psychology:

General Registration via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Eligibility for accreditation or current Board approved Supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia or actively working towards same (desirable) Psychology Board of Australia Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical or Educational and Developmental Psychology or working towards same (desirable)

Social Work:

A degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Tertiary qualifications for Social Work from overseas institutions require the applicant to include official notification from AASW that the qualification has been assessed as eligible for membership Mental Health Accreditation (desirable)

Occupational Therapy:

General Registration via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Mental Health Accreditation (desirable)
